Our Priest, Fr. Kevin Kalish
Fr. Kevin and his family came to St. Mark of Ephesus Orthodox Church in November of 2023. Fr. Kevin was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois. He received his MA and PhD at Princeton University and his Diploma in Pastoral Theology from the Pastoral School of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. He was ordained to the priesthood on September 5, 2010 and was received into the Orthodox Church in America in January of 2021. He is also a published writer and in 2022, Fr. Kevin wrote She Who Loved Much: The Sinful Woman in Saint Ephrem the Syrian and the Orthodox Tradition. The book was published by Holy Trinity Seminary Press. Matushka Erin, Mary, and Elizabeth are members of the choir. Elizabeth teaches the younger children in our church school and James Kalish is an altar server. All of us at St. Mark of Ephesus Orthodox Church are most thankful for the Kalish family and we feel truly blessed to be guided and supported by them. May God grant them many years!
